Well, I got HVF done, and the video project done, and a thing for senior project done, and good headway made on figuring out the particulars, and today in MMP1 my group made some nice progress on the business website, und so ich denke, alles gut ist (c'est bon).

Random Mandatory Blog Stardate 11.13.08
Well, ok, we are now doing a group project in MMPI: a site for an actual business. Unfortunately my partner and I haven't been able to find a business that wants to work with us to make a site...
In other news I released HFV 1.1 but it had rather poor reception once again...so even though that was going to be my last version I might end up making version 1.2...add more cps and fix the texture issue, and add some speeder bikes and taun tauns.
I am working on another, all-original assets level (Jade Moon)--well, it uses the original units, but the ground textures and building models and textures are all created by me. I wish I could figure out how to get lowrez to work--so you can see the objects from farther away. I have a lot done, have a long way to go.
Intro to Video: working on a 3 minute news story, need more footage...we'll see what I can get done friday.
Senior project: I pretty much know what I'm doing, I just need to make the right connections and get it done.

SWBF HFV
I'll re-release my map once I am done perfecting it. I finally found out how to change the yavin-clothed units to snow units, and got the sky changed, but I still need to figure out how to get my level boundary working. The instructions say it needs to be called in the mission .lua file, but I don't see where to do that...btw I increased the reinforcement count to 200 and the on-field count to 30.

SWBF modding
Due to personal interest and my cousin's persuasion I finally bought Star Wars Battlefront 2, and when he mentioned that they released a map editor for it, I checked it out. I now know how to import custom 3D models using Blender. Yay!

The somewhat long comment on that page by Jaspo is mine, explaining how it's done.

The Last Assignment in Intro to Video
...was an interview with Erik R, on what it is like to be an RA at BSU. Hmm, I guess I could post it here...1 sec.

As of right now, the competition03 results are being posted
There's a topic on the Yoyo glog that is titled "Co-operation Competition Winners!" but it doesnt contain any information and it's link doesn't go anywhere yet. Must mean they are in the process of updating things. At any rate, the winners have now been decided, we just don't know who they are yet.

After reading a blog on the Arab-Israeli conflict, here is my response.
We, the citizenry of the "civilized" nations of the Earth, must realize at long last that world peace is indeed just a fairy tale, a luxurious dream for those who can affort to conjure it due to their artificial and temporary sense of safety. Nothing in this world is secure, and certainly nothing is free. Human rights such as we feel everyone ought to be entitled to have no logical place where the harsh reality of instability and conflict dwells. We sit back out of harm's way and complain about war crimes and the like, all the while being woefully incabable of understanding the hardship of a more harsh and real existence, in which nothing is secure, and nothing is guaranteed, and there is no entitlement granted without a (life and death) struggle. Woe to us, the lazy and stupid Americans. How will it be for us, if our own security fails? What if we find that Big Brother will not always be able to catch us when we fall?
I am not anti-American, or rather I am not opposed to what America ought to be. I am, however, ashamed of what we have let it become.

I made a flash video just 'cause I can.
I uploaded this .flv of some sprites from the most recent version of my game, Ancient Battlegrounds. The older version can be found on the YoYo games site under competition02.

File Transfer in Progress
I've moved my video files and music files to the new computer, and also my mod tracker, though it doesn't seem to work right in Vista. I also installed Vista and Adobe updates, Xfire, and Blender.

Behold the Power of my Fully Armed and Operational Dual-boot Macbook!
Actually I have no way of demonstrating... also I guess it isn't fully armed and operational since I haven't installed everything or transferred files, but I have Game Maker and the Adobe Production Suite installed in addition to both O/Ss. Installation went reasonably smoothly except for some reason I can't get rEFIt to work, so I still have to hold down the option key when booting to select the operating system. Oh, and I got a free Mac hat and iPod Touch out of the deal, though actually they made me pay for the touch and then submit a mail-in rebate--kind of a pain, it wasted like two hours of my day on tuesday. Oh well. Now I have to figure out what to do with it...

YoYo games Update
I noticed that YoYo has replaced it's competition 3 banner and page with the competition 4 banner and page. Hopefully this means they are almost done judging competition 3.
Macbook
Well, my phone says the university called; must've been yesterday morning. That must mean my Macbook has arrived. I'll go check it out after class.
We are going to learn Dreamweaver
...At least that's what I hear. I think we're getting into that today.

Web Site 1
I finished the first Multimedia Processes 1 project and turned it in on friday. It was a personal site made in Word. I basically made a portfolio site.

Drew Wants Me To Post Again
I didn't do anything really productive over the weekend. I guess that's okay. It was fun doing nothing important all weekend long.

New Computer
Yesterday I ordered a dual-boot Macbook with a 2.4ghz 2core processor and 4 gb RAM and DVDrw drive. Now I'll be able to run my Adobe production suite. And go broke. Or at least half broke. Today I landed a senior project with the campus TV station. More details to come.
